Even the ducks are tired of the rain!

Will it stop? Not anytime soon they say. Found the Girls at the backdoor this am trying to get inside where its dry. Sorry Girls- no ducks in the house.

A 1940's pic of our Farm

Betty who used to live here-came for a visit and brought me some pictures of the old farm. Love them!!! Cant wait to copy them and hang them up all over!! This is my favorite one! Only the two big barns remain, the milk palor and silos are gone. This was also taken before the road was moved out away from the farm. The hill is covered in trees now.

Some how I just knew we were getting rain

A cloud like this is never a good sign.
and yes I did get wet!

More blooms

The front yard trees in bloom. Hoping the apple tree puts out as well as last year! good pie!

The sun rising over Misery Hill

The sun has changed position since the winter and now has to conquer Misery Hill before I can see it. Its also behind the barn which means I have to go outside and take a lil walk-but what beauty in a sunrise!

My weeping red bud

This is my weeping red bud. It has a short flowering time and each flower will turn into a heart shaped leaf. I thought after it getting planted so late in the fall we might have lost it-glad I was wrong!

My pretty bush-that I dont know the name for

I love this bush. I wish it would stay flowered all summer. Last year it competed with the bush behind and didn't do so well. It got groomed in the fall and is doing well. I am not sure how tall it will get. its around the 7ft mark now.

The BIG egg

One of the girls delivered this brown egg. The smaller egg is from one of my larger bantams and the other egg is from our muscovy hen. Looking at it makes me feel her pain making it.
